If you are a Metal Gear Solid fan this may be your week. The latest installment in the Metal Gear series, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has just been released this week on March 18, 2014. It is the prequel to the next “full” game in the series Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
The game is completely open world and allows the player to choose how they execute their missions. On the plus side, the game is graphically astounding, showing off the Fox engine, which has an amazing level of detail especially on next generation consoles. This is the first time a Metal Gear game offers a truly free experience to the players, giving them the choice to play the entire game guns blazing, or in complete stealth or both. There are no limitations on how the player can approach the next objective. On the down side, the game is SHORT, clocking in on average up to 2 hours to complete the entire game. Obviously it will take more or less time to complete depending on player skill and game difficulty.
Although the campaign of this Metal Gear is quite short, the game does offer lots of replay value with different challenges to complete and achievements or trophies to unlock, depending on which system you prefer. The game will be released on current, and next generation consoles with a price tag of just $29.99 plus tax, which is not bad considering you are getting a decent amount of content for the price. MGS5: Ground Zeroes gives players a sample of great things to come in the next official installment which sadly is set to be released next year.
