Gamer Opinion: Diablo 3 (Xbox 360)

Diablo 3 was released for PC back in May 2012, and had a truly successful launch. It sold 3.5 millions copies in its first 24 hours and was crowned best selling PC game for 2012. About a year later, the game was remade for current generation consoles and released on Sept. 3rd 2013 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. I have just purchased the game for the 360 last week, even though I am extremely late to purchase this game, I find that the game gets more and more awesome the more I play it.

Towards the end of Act 1 I had found my first legendary weapon called “Odyn Son” which was one handed mace weapon that raises the chance to start a lightning chain, and tons of other attributes. This weapon completely dominated the enemies I encountered towards the end of Act 1 and I had a blast slamming the zombies around like dolls. I know I am still in an early stage of the game, but as the story progresses I continue to get drawn into it’s storyline. The only thing that has been annoying me (which has nothing to do with the actual game) is that Diablo 3 has not been released for next generation consoles. Although it has been announced to be released on the Playstation 4 this year, I am not sure if there is any new information about the game being released on any other consoles.

Honestly I would prefer to be playing it on the Xbox One instead of Xbox 360 just because of graphical differences and controller preference. And for players who may have heard about Diablo 3 and are unsure about picking up the game, put your doubt to rest. Diablo 3 is a phenomenal RPG with tons of content and hours of entertaining gameplay. Looting for the best items in dungeons becomes addictive and quite frankly is one of my favorite parts of the game. Diablo 3 also has a cooperative mode, which unfortunately I have not had the chance to try out. It supports 4 players online and locally, and increases the difficulty of the game making it much more of a challenge when playing cooperatively. Overall Diablo 3 is a fantastic RPG for a very reasonable price of $40 on current generation consoles. In my opinion, fans of RPGs will love the pacing of the game, the constant chaotic battles, leveling up and searching for new weapons and armor.

I would highly recommend the game for anyone who is a fan of the previous games, or just a newcomer trying to get into a new RPG. For players who are interested, a DLC pack titled Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls has been released for the game this year. So far it is only out for PCs but the game’s website also states the DLC will be packed in with the Playstation 4 version of the game which will be called: Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition. Reaper of Souls will feature new levels to explore as well as new weapons and upgrades, a new level cap, and a new character class called the Crusader. The DLC looks amazing but I have not found any information about it being released for current consoles. The standard version of the Reaper of Souls DLC is available for download on the game website for $30 dollars and a deluxe special edition for $60. Below is a gameplay video of Diablo 3 running on the Xbox 360 and the trailer for the Ultimate Evil Edition of the game. Enjoy.
