Gaming News: Mario Kart 8

The new Mario Kart 8 has been announced and it is set to be released on May 30th 2014. The game is bringing a ton of new features and remaking some of the old ones. According to IGN, the game will ship with a roster of 27 characters and will possibly be expanded with DLC. The game will also introduce a new feature called Mario Kart TV, where players can upload a video of their greatest moments and share them with friends. On top of this the game will support multiplayer locally and online. Local matches will support up to 4 players split screen, and online races can support up to 12 players.

The game will also include new and classic maps as well as a few new items. Another new feature in the game, is the addition of other vehicles such as motorcycles, and quad bikes, as well as the ability to  glide in mid air, drive on walls and under water. On top of all this, there will also be customization in the game although not to much is known about the extent of what can be customized. And finally to top it all off, the game will be running at an astounding 60 frames per second. Mario Kart 8 appears to bring the core gameplay to the next level with this latest installment, and looks to please fans more than ever. As of now, the game will be an exclusive title for the Wii U.
